Let’s Learn Moor, the UK’s largest upland classroom is set to launch its 2021 event this Monday, 5 July. Â
Running until Friday 9 July, the showcase of Britain’s moorlands will welcome more than 2,000 primary school children across nine venues throughout the week. Â
Let’s Learn Moor is made possible by a multitude of groups who work together to ensure our uplands continue to thrive, including gamekeepers, farmers, conservations organisations, mountain rescue, fire crews, the police and moorland groups.Â
Venues include moors in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, North York Moors National Park, Nidderdale, the Peak District National Park, Bradford and the North Pennines.Â
Across all of these venues, Let’s Learn Moor allows the visiting children to learn about the complexities of our uplands and the role of all of the people who work to maintain them. The event also aims to educate children about the importance of moor management and make them feel that our uplands are places available and accessible to them.
Look out for our updates and coverage throughout the week here.
