Aspiring applicants have just days left to apply for the 2025 BASC Legacy Sponsorship programme, with the deadline fast approaching on 31 October.
BASC’s Legacy Sponsorship offers financial support to BASC members, or anyone in their immediate family, looking to advance in their career in competitive shooting.
Successful applicants have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of 2024 recipient Olivia Stevens.
Olivia’s achievements in 2024 include making the England team and placing in the top three women, qualifying her for prestigious events such as the Home International, British Open, European Championships and World Championships, where she won gold, silver, and two bronze medals. Additionally, she the junior champion title at the Gozo 200 Grand Prix, her first international competition.
Support from BASC’s Legacy Sponsorship programme has allowed Olivia to take part in multiple shooting disciplines, where she has achieved standout results. These include second place in both the junior and women’s categories at major automatic ball trap (ABT) competitions, like the British Open and World ABT Championship.
Speaking about her plans for next year, Olivia said: “My aspirations for 2025 are to make the England team again, hopefully in the top three. This will lead me to compete in the Home International and British open in Scotland, European Championships in France and the World Championships in New Zealand. I am also hoping to compete at the Gozo 200 again.
“I continue to beat and pick-up on local shoots and endeavour to be an ambassador for our sport and women in shooting. I am so grateful for the help and continued support from BASC pushing for my goals and dreams.”
As the deadline for applications near, we’re encouraging you to apply and take advantage of the same support that has propelled Olivia toward her goals.
To apply for the BASC Legacy Sponsorship 2025 programme, download and submit a completed application form by 5pm on 31 October 2024, by either email or post.
As well as the application form, candidates must provide evidence of their own – or their immediate family’s – BASC membership. Please do not send in membership cards; send in a scan or photocopy of the card along with your application form.
A big part of the sponsorship programme is sharing in your success, so we ask that you’re happy to help us publicise the sponsorship programme through social media, BASC’s Shooting and Conservation magazine and press releases in order to encourage others to apply for support, too.
